Welcome, and Zikomo (thank you) for taking the time to view what we have to offer, we promise you’ll be glad you did. We fell in love with Zambia on our very first visit and we were so thankful that we had the opportunity to see this magnificent land, to meet the warm, friendly people and witness the incredible wildlife in their natural habitat that we named our camp "Zikomo,” for it means "thank you" in the local dialect.
We started the camp because we wanted to make a positive difference, to help protect the animals and bring employment to these beautiful people (and we are). You can be a part of it, come join us, do the Zambian thing --share-- this wonderful land and the adventure of a lifetime.
Location
Our camp is situated in the Game Management Area (GMA) of the Nsefu Chiefdom Mfuwe (South Luangwa Valley) Zambia. You want the best? You came to the right place. We had to work hard, but we got the ideal location. Perfectly placed at the junction of the old & new Luangwa rivers where an island (which is also part of the park) has formed. The island is uncrowded and perfect for our walking safaris (with our highly trained guides). The world famous ‘South Luangwa National Park,’ one of Africa’s greatest wildlife treasures, sits directly across from us and is easily accessible. This is a secluded and sublime site, which serves as a crossing point for wildlife traveling from the National park into the GMA.
From our location Zikomo can offer an abundance of activities, such as (but not limited to) day trips (or night drives) to Chichele hot springs where one can witness the congregation of large herds of Cape buffalo and other game, or join us for a trip to Kawaza cultural center for some traditional song and dance. Only an hour from Mfuwe international airport, but a world away from your troubles; we provide a sanctuary for the soul.

Situated on almost twenty tree filled acres, our family designed Zikomo to feel as big and open as Africa itself. Knowledge, although the camp is newly constructed we have gone to great lengths to find the best guides and staff available. Service, this we pride ourselves on, we guarantee you’ll be treated like royalty.
Accommodation & Facilities
We provide comfortable lodging, good food, and a friendly staff and onsite registered nurse. Our lodge has a well stocked bar, lounge and large dining area, where you can dine inside or under the stars. There is also a gift shop which carries clothes, jewelry, carvings, and paintings all designed and made by the local people. Additionally, the camp offers a gym and workout facilities for those who want to stay in shape on their holiday. Or just relax by our swimming pool designed to mirror the Luangwa River and we will bring the drinks to you.
The chalets all face the river, are made from local materials and extremely spacious. Most chalets sleep two, but we do have a family chalet which sleeps four and a group chalet for individual travelers. Each has an en-suite bath with hot & cold running water and its own fan. You can choose from a double/queen size bed or two singles, . These are built a meter and half off of the ground to take advantage of the spectacular view and help you spot game and birds from your private sundeck.
